William G. Bumpus is a seasoned legal professional with a wealth of experience spanning 35 + years, involving various facets of law and academia. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Yale Law School in 1988 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Central Connecticut State University in 1984.

 

Currently, Attorney William Bumpus, is a Partner with The Levine Litigation Law Firm.  He specializes in family law and serves as a Guardian ad Litem/Attorney for the Minor Child in Child Protection Cases and Family Law Cases. Attorney William Bumpus also specializes in Collaborative Divorce allowing evolved married individuals to legally uncouple in a civil, mindful manner. Attorney Bumpus has completed many extensive training programs and seminars, including those focused on parental rejection and divorce mediation.

 

Prior to his private practice, William served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Protection Unit of the State of Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, where he litigated numerous cases involving parental rights termination and neglect. He argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court on several significant cases.

William's commitment to education is evident through his roles as an Adjunct Professor and Associate Dean at Central Connecticut State University, where he established advising programs and coordinated student orientation. He also served as an Associate Professor, teaching courses on management, ethics and business law.

 

Additionally, William has worked as a Faculty Consultant at Charter Oak State College and served as Of Counsel at The Law Firm of Lyle, Hume & Ngobeni, providing legal representation and litigation support.

 

Earlier in his career, William gained valuable experience as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Hartford, prosecuting criminal violations, and as a Police Officer in the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, where he conducted crime scene investigations and enforced city laws.

 

Throughout his diverse career, William has demonstrated a strong commitment to justice, education, and community service, making significant contributions to both the legal profession and academia.

 

He is the very proud father of 3 and the grandfather of 2.
